Ahtna Engineering Services, LLC (Ahtna) has self-performed Regional Multiple Award Construction Contract (RMACC) services under an ID/IQ contract for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) including design-build construction, performance-based construction, general construction, marine construction, demolition, historical restoration, design, and design and construction to LEED standards. Other services included environmental engineering and management and compliance with environmental regulatory programs as required for handling and disposal of hazardous wastes.
This project scope was to provide construction and incidental design services to repair and replace the infrastructure associated with the floating dock located at Mooring Petersburg in Petersburg, Alaska. Work included demolishing the existing floating dock, piling, ship-to-shore utilities, and pier-mounted crane. New construction included a new 12-foot by 114-foot floating dock; new piling; new ship-to-shore utilities (sewer, water, electrical and communications); upgraded pier structure to support the new crane; new pier-mounted crane; gangway refurbishment; new metal roofing; and siding on a utility/storage building.
Ahtna teamed up with PND Engineers, Inc., to design the float, structural upgrades to the pier, sewer and water utilities, and metal building system. Prism Construction and Design designed the electrical and communication systems.
