FAA JOHNSTONE POINT PRIME ENGINE GENERATOR REPLACEMENT
Ahtna furnished all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and shipping required to perform the work at the Johnstone Island Prime Engine/Generator site. The project is at an active Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) site, and work outages were required and coordinated in advance with the FAA. Ahtna devised outage plans listing impacted equipment and durations.
Ahtna’s scope of work included the installation of two government-furnished 100kW, 0.8P.F., 120-208 volt, three-phase, diesel engine/generators, complete with an Automatic Transfer/Bypass switch (ATS/BPS), and control panel. Tasks included the connection of temporary generators, as well as building renovations to accommodate new doors and frames, installation of new air ducts, exhaust air duct, engine exhaust thimbles, roof exhauster and circulation fan, temperature controls, and electrical circuit with breakers. The gypsum wallboard in the generator room contained asbestos materials, and so Ahtna furnished the required work plan and asbestos-certified personnel to perform the work
